KUCHING, July 19: Malaysians can now interact with PMX.AI, an AI-generated digital replica of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, designed to mimic his appearance, voice, and manner of speaking.

In a video posted on his Facebook page, Anwar’s avatar encouraged Malaysians to interact with it via WhatsApp, which was described as a new way to connect, share perspectives, and explore ideas.

“No leader can be everywhere at once, at every moment—that is the reality. Now, we step forward as artificial intelligence (AI) opens a new dimension—the voice of the people is heard, aspirations are better understood, and ideas are explored together across time and borders,” said the avatar.

Seemingly drawing inspiration from movie characters, the video portrays Anwar in a series of different personas, including an astronaut soaring through space, a superhero parachuting from a plane with a Captain America-style shield with the Malaysian flag on it, a character in a Matrix-like world, and a younger version of himself vaulting across rooftops much like Spider-Man.

“Malaysians have known me through the different phases of my life through wisdom, faith, reform, leadership, the hopes of the younger generation, and vision—driving Malaysia towards progress powered by innovation and opportunity for shared prosperity. But what if all these sides of me could be present at the same time?”

It went on to describe itself as not merely an avatar, but a digital extension of Anwar who is ready to listen, assist, and serve the people.

“The future is not something we want for. Let us build it with knowledge, integrity, and hard work for the people and Malaysia Madani—this is the world of the Madani multiverse,” it said.

According to the video, members of the public can contact the avatar via +603 7885 0523.

Meanwhile, in the same post, Anwar encouraged the public to interact with his avatar.

“I sincerely hope that you can share your views, concerns, and aspirations directly through this avatar because I am confident that the country will only improve if it is centred on the voices and demands of the people.

“I invite everyone to join this campaign and start creating fresh discussions for the country and its people,” said Anwar. — DayakDaily
