KUCHING, July 8: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry will be working together to produce agropreneurs among the nation’s youth.
Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said in order for that to turn reality, a discussion between the MEDAC and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee was recently held to ensure that the aspiration to make this plan a reality for the benefit of local Malaysian youths.
“Various agricultural inputs, training and modernization of agriculture towards high-income economics were discussed together in this meeting.
“The involvement of agricultural-based cooperatives is expected to increase output and increase co-operative income especially in the modern agricultural sector where the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry will provide assistance and cooperation,” Wan Junaidi said in a statement.
He hoped that such strategic cooperation between MEDAC and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry will play a role in enhancing more creative and innovative cooperative entrepreneurs.
At the same time, Wan Junaidi said that such collaboration would produce more agropreneurs, especially young entrepreneurs and women in the agriculture and food industry.—DayakDaily
