Kuching, June 17: The Malaysia Dynamic Community Association (MDCA), together with Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP), is organising an education fair on June 26.

Held in conjunction with the recent release of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results, Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen said 16 higher education institutions and Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) would set up consultation booths at Boulevard Shopping Mall Kuching (new wing) from 10am to 5pm.

“Education is one of the top priorities for parents and students before joining the workforce. The higher the education you obtain, the better equipped you will be and even command brighter prospects in future.

“Education fairs can help students choose their further education pathway. This is not only for SPM leavers but also Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) leavers, working adults, and the public seeking higher education opportunities,” Chong said in a press conference today.

He asserts that the fair can provide answers on the best colleges and universities, courses, career possibilities, and even scholarships from the government and corporate sector for students who have not decided on a course or university.

Therefore, MDCA chairman Paul Fong called SPM graduates and those seeking higher education courses to visit the education fair.

“We will assist students in understanding the course details and other related topics. An event like this is an effective platform for students to explore their study options in Malaysia and overseas before making an informed decision on what course to pursue,” Fong said.

Earlier on May 6, Chong handed over a special grant to MDCA to assist them in organising the education fair. — DayakDaily
