KUCHING, Jan 31: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has decided to impose Movement Control Order (MCO) on Kapit and Song districts.
SDMC, in a press statement today, said the MCO period will be effective for two weeks from 12.01am on Feb 2 until 11.59pm on Feb 15.
In the wake of the increased number of cases in the two districts especially from the Pasai Cluster originated in Sibu which has spread to Song recently, the committee has made the said decision.
Yesterday, there was a disabled woman from Song who was reported to have passed away due to Covid-19.
The Song district has been classified as a red zone of Covid-19 with a total of 100 cases in the past fortnight while the Kapit district has been categorised as an orange zone with a total of 37 cases in the past 14 days. —DayakDaily
