MCC to mark Integrity Month on Nov 11, aims to unite Miri citizens to combat corruption

KUCHING, Oct 31: Miri City Council’s (MBM) 2022 Integrity Month event will be held on Nov 11 with the theme “Integrity Begins with Me”, and is inviting Miri residents to unite in dealing with corruption, as well as to work together and dignify themselves as Miri citizens with high integrity.

According to a press release, the event coincides with the National Integration Day celebration, which is held annually on Nov 5.

The event will be kicked off by Deputy Premier of Sarawak Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Throughout the month, various programmes will be held on the first floor of Miri City Hall, with the following programmes being implemented for the public:

• On Nov 13, “Integrity Day with the Little One” will be held. The public is invited to the first floor of Miri City Hall from 9am to 3pm to participate in a variety of engaging activities designed specifically for children under the age of 12.

• “MBM Open Day” will be held from Nov 14 to 17. The “Miri City as Smart City” exhibition, acquisition of council services, MBM licences, how to conduct business at MBM, and payment of tax assessments and parking compounds will be accessible to the public. The public is welcome to visit the exhibition site between 9am and 4pm. In accordance with the objective of promoting more transparent procurement of services and work to further stimulate the economy in Miri City, the presence of local associations and merchants is very welcome.

• On Nov 16, between 9am and 12.30pm, the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) Sarawak will host an exhibition of LPPKN services and mobile clinic services, including free health screenings to visitors.

• The “Integrity Run” will be held at 6.30am on Nov 26. Prior to Nov 5, the public is invited to register on the “Let’s Run” app, visit the Bulatan Park Runners’ Club at the Bulatan Park, or stop by Sharetea near Boulevard Shopping Mall Miri.
