āItems used for business operations are found in public areas such as parking lots and back lanes, which may affect Miri cityās image and views and cause inconveniences and threaten the public’s safety, especially road users.
āA total of four food outlets have been spot-checked, and among the items that had been confiscated are refrigerators, plastic chairs, aluminium tables, baskets, and others.Ā
āPrior to this, there were warnings and compound actions taken, but there had been no cooperation from most of the business operators.Ā
āThis operation will continue from time to time. The Council requests all business operators not to abuse parking spaces and public areas to ensure Miri City is clean, safe, and orderly,ā said MCC. Ā
The enforcement operation was carried out by MCC enforcement officers and assisted by the police, where the main focus was to clear items placed by business operators in unauthorized areas.
