KUCHING, Aug 1: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has been urged to expedite maintenance works to tackle the soil erosion issue at Lorong Permata 2 in Central Park here.
In a press statement, Sarawak Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) George Lam, together with DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) Kuching secretary Anthony Chin went to visit the affected area today.
Lam said MBKS sent a maintenance team to conduct inspection and measurement works in May 2023, and residents are waiting for the council to carry out maintenance work.
“The Sungai Maong Ulu river along the residential area of Central Park is facing the same issue of soil erosion.
“The soil erosion issue in Central Park has affected the livelihood of the residents there for quite some time and caused damage to the structure of their housing,” he said. — DayakDaily
