KUCHING, July 16: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will carry out spring cleaning activities once a month at each hawker centre under its jurisdiction.
MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said operators of the involved hawker centres will be cleaning together with the council.
“So, we will carry out spring cleaning once every month, when the hawker centre is not operating.
“It should not be just the council’s job. It’s everybody’s responsibility. I want to see the council and the people together in carrying this out.
“And for the public, please take care of the cleanliness of these places and don’t litter. Kuching is not just your city, or my city. It’s our city,” he said when streaming live from Batu Lintang Hawker Centre here today.
Wee said this was part of the initiatives carried out by the council in conjunction with the Kuching City Hygiene Month 2022. — DayakDaily
