KUCHING, March 12: Swimming pools as well as outdoor and semi-outdoor sports centres under Kuching South City Council (MBKS) are now fully open for public use.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said that the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has approved the opening of these sports facilities.
MBKS swimming pool is open with three sessions on weekdays at 2pm to 3.3.pm, 4pm to 5.30pm and 6pm to 7.30pm.
For weekends and selected public holidays, there will be four sessions – 8.30am to 10am, 10.30am to 12pm, 2pm to 3.30pm and 4pm to 5.30pm.
The other facilities that have reopened include the Sports Village and Squash Court at Jalan Bintawa, Jubilee Ground, Song Kheng Hai Field as well as MBKS Community Hall.
The public who wish to make use of these facilities can contact MBKS Facilities hotline at 082-354200 (ext 6014) to make bookings.
Meanwhile, MBKS will also be holding a Buy Back Recycling Campaign at Hui Sing Commercial Centre (car park behind Unaco supermarket) tomorrow (March 13) starting at 8.30am to 11am.
The campaign is MBKS’ monthly programme with schedules out until June as part of its efforts to raise awareness on recycling, reducing waste, proper recycling methods and waste management towards making Kuching an environmentally responsible city.
The public are encouraged to take advantage of the campaign to drop off their recyclables at the venue, while Wee also reminded participants to strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) in place. — DayakDaily
