KUCHING, April 14: In keeping with the spirit of Ramadan, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) brought early festive cheer by distributing duit raya to 169 children of its staff.

Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian and MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng were present at the ‘MBKS Ihya Ramadan Programme with Community 2023’ held at the Council’s community hall in Jalan Padungan here today.

This was an annual initiative as giving back to the society, especially during festive seasons, has always been at the heart of MBKS.

The children, MBKS staff including councillors and other invited guests also broke fast together over a simple buffet dinner.

At the event, MBKS also presented contributions to 19 mosques and suraus under the MBKS jurisdiction.
