2022 JCI National vice president Michael Chai presented the award to Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian at MBKS Mayor’s office today.

Additionally, MBKS was also chosen as the top finalist for the 2021 JCI Malaysia SDA under SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being for the MBKS Blood Donation Drive project during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr Sim said he was very proud of MBKS’ performance throughout the years. The council has been working hard to manage Kuching South and putting extra effort into raising its image at the national and international levels.

“With so many things to do in managing a big city during the pandemic, MBKS has always tried its best to serve the people in their capacity as a city council. Thank you to the mayor, management, staff, and also to the residents of Kuching South for the endless support and contributions,” he said.

Also present were MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, acting city secretary Zainab Marzali, and JCI Kuching president Jordan Bong. — DayakDaily
