MBKS Ramadan Bazaar draws 277 applications, 160 stalls up for grabs with balloting on Feb 24

KUCHING, Feb 22: The upcoming Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Ramadan Bazaar at the Stutong Community Market parking lot has received 277 applications for 160 available stalls.

MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng revealed that 260 successful applicants have been notified to attend a balloting session on Feb 24 at the MBKS Auditorium.

“The final list of applicants was determined after filtering out duplicate applications, such as those from spouses, as well as individuals blacklisted by the council,” he said during his ShallWeeTalk live session today.

Wee reminded notified applicants to attend the balloting session, which will include a briefing to provide vendors with essential information and ensure fair stall allocation.

This year’s MBKS Ramadan Bazaar, scheduled from March 2 to 30, will feature 60 stalls for cooked food, 54 for cakes, 24 for beverages, and 22 for barbecue.

Applications for the stalls opened on Jan 13 and closed on Jan 24. The permit fee remains at RM250 per stall, with a refundable security deposit of RM100, consistent with previous years. — DayakDaily
