KUCHING, Sept 5: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng handed over some food aid to Sarawak Cheshire Home yesterday (Sept 4), in which the organisation is currently under lockdown as part of the measure to curbĀ the transmission of coronavirus.
The food aid include lemons, honey, and dry food such as biscuits, milk powder, sugar, milo and so forth.
MBKS in a Facebook posting today said Wee was informed by MBKS officers who had spoken to one of the Cheshire Homeās staff that the organisation had requested for lemon, honey, milk powder, sugar and dry food.
āFollowing that, Kuching South Hawkers and Traders Association had sponsored five boxes of lemon, KTS Mutual Sdn Bhd sponsored four boxes of honey, and the other donors sponsored dry food such as biscuits, milo, milk powder, sugar and et cetera.
āAll the food supply were successfully handed to the representative of Cheshire Home and it is hoped that the contribution will be sufficient for all the residents staying there until the lockdown is over,ā it said.
The statement further said Wee thanked the sponsors for their fast response on the request made by him after being approached within 12 hours. ā DayakDaily
