KUCHING, Jan 13: The food and beverage (F&B) operators in the community markets under the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) were reminded to be constantly aware of the changes in the standard operating procedures (SOPs) laid out by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

MBKS Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said it is important for food and beverage operators to comply with the latest SOPs outlined by the committee in order to curb the Covid-19 infection.

“It is one of our responsibilities to fight the virus together with the frontline workers.

“We may not be the frontline workers, but by doing so, we could help the government,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Wee together with a few MBKS councillors and officers conducted an inspection at the Kenyalang Market and MBKS Stutong Community Market today to check on the compliance of SOPs by stall operators.

He also advised the stall operators and coffee shop owners there to ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the stalls at all times due to Covid-19 situation in Sarawak. —DayakDaily
