The handover ceremony was attended by MBKS councillors, city engineer Mohammad Taufiq and senior officers. After the handing over of the work order, a short inspection and a briefing on the projects were done by the city engineer and the contractors.
According to a press release, Wee during the session reminded the contractors to ensure that the implementation of the project is in accordance to the specification and the completion of the project is on schedule.
“The repair as well as upgrading of the drains is one of the council’s initiatives in ensuring that the residents of Kuching South have a proper and well-maintained drainage system.
“The project will be done in stages, and the council hopes that it will improve the quality of life of our residents,” he said.
Wee added that he would greatly appreciate if the elected representatives would bid for more funding from the Federal government so that the council could upgrade more drains and improve basic infrastructure for the public.
“The real credit is to those who are bidding for more funding for the council to implement more upgrading projects for the people,” he said. — DayakDaily
