MBKS mayor distributes roses in conjunction with Mother’s Day celebration

Wee presents a rose to a hawker as part of the council's Mother's Day celebration.

KUCHING, May 7: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng distributed roses to hawkers at markets and hawker centres under the council’s jurisdiction yesterday, in conjunction with this Sunday’s Mother’s Day celebration.

Wee in a statement today said the distribution of roses began yesterday (May 6), to honor mothers, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.

“This is to show appreciation towards our mothers. They sacrifice their needs and wants just to ensure their families are taken well care,” he said.

We emphasised that everyone should spend more time with their parents and to not only wait for a special day to express their feelings towards them.

He said a mother’s love is irreplaceable and it must be appreciated while the opportunity is still there.

“For those who have yet to say ‘Mother, I love you’, please do so this Mother’s Day which is tomorrow because these four simple magical words are sure to touch their hearts,” he added. — DayakDaily
