KUCHING, Jan 8: Kuching South City Council’s (MBKS) employees are the driving forces behind the beautiful Kuching city, said MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.

In his Facebook post yesterday, Wee praised the ‘unsung heroes’ for their silent contribution to ensure that citizens can have a comfortable living environment.

“As far as I know, sometimes when they are carrying out their tasks, they would encounter kind people who give them words of encouragement and praises.

“But there are also times when unfriendly citizens approach them to voice insults and criticism. However bitter the experiences were, they chose to stay quiet,” he said.

According to Wee, these workers have also been at work during the pandemic period, assisting in arranging various equipment at the One-Stop Covid-19 Centre at MBKS community hall, among other unseen contributions.

“It is impossible to list them all, and I hope all citizens can give them affirmation.

“They are unknown to the public, but their actions speak louder than words. They are truly the heroes of society,” he added.
