Masing congratulates Hajiji on appointment as new Sabah CM


KUCHING, Sept 28: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing today congratulates Sabah Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on his appointment as the next Chief Minister of Sabah.

In the just concluded Sabah State election, PN along with Barisan Nasional (BN) and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) won 38 out of the 73 seats up for grab.

The Warisan Plus coalition, led by former Chief Minister Datuk Seri Safiee Apdal won only 32 seats, while the remaining three were won by Independent candidates.


“On behalf of PRS, I wish to offer our heartiest congratulations to Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on his appointment as the Chief Minister of Sabah.

“I’m sure with his appointment as the Sabah Chief Minister, representing PN, BN and PBS coalition, he will further strengthen the good relationship we always have with Sabah over the years,” Masing said here today

He was confident that the Cabinet whom Hajiji will appoint to assist him in administrating Sabah would be people of experience, integrity and with calibre.

“GPS is looking forward to work with him in strengthening a beneficial and meaningful ties with the Federal government,” added Masing, who is also Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development.

Masing, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, was commenting on Sabah’s latest political update whereby it was reported that Hajiji has received a letter of intent from Sabah’s Governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin which confirmed him to be appointed as the next Chief Minister of Sabah.

Hajiji is expected to be sworn in as the 16th Chief Minister of Sabah tomorrow morning.-DayakDaily
