KUCHING, May 31: The country is now being plagued with two deadly viruses, namely the novel coronavirus which causes Covid-19 and also a political virus.

In view of this, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri James Jemut Masing opines Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has so far done well in containing the spread of Covid-19 compared to neighbouring nations by allowing medical experts’ advice and data to guide his decision.

Meanwhile, he opined the political virus is caused by power-greedy politicians who appear to not know when enough is enough, and that their aim of toppling the Prime Minister is disguised as a platform of eradicating corruption.

“The alleged corrupt practices by United Malays National Organisation (Umno) and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders will not destabalise this nation, but the continuous effort to topple Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin by unsavory political practices and horse-trading will erase (sic) this government to the political abyss from which we will not recover that soon.

“The glorification of party-hopping by those involved in the horse-trading also exacerbated the situation,” Masing asserted in a statement today.

Muhyiddin, he added, was forced to stabilise the nation by countering political uncertainties created by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and those in the power-greedy group are in no position to call the kettle black as they have been not angels while administrating Malaysia for decades.

“My advice to those who are so insistent in toppling Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s government is to cease. Let us together consolidate our resources to fight our battle with Covid-19.

“If we lose this coronavirus battle, we will lose everything including our lives,” he added. — DayakDaily
