KUCHING, Mar 31: A 23-year-old man was arrested for insulting the authorities on duty during the Movement Control Order (MCO) on social media today.
The arrest was made around 10.40am at the suspect’s house located in Bandar Samariang.
According to the police report, the suspect’s post insulting authorities which included police, armed forces and Rela on his Facebook page while expressing his dissatisfaction with the MCO have gone viral.
The suspect will be investigated under Section 505(b) Penal Code for attempting to cause fear or alarm to the public and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998 for sharing of offensive and menacing content. —DayakDaily
