KUCHING, June 24: A man was found dead after reportedly falling into the Sarawak River from Darul Hana Bridge at Waterfront Kuching early this morning.
According to a report from Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak operations centre, they received the call regarding the incident at 1.35am today, and firefighters from Bomba Padungan were deployed to the location.
Firefighters started their search operation using the water surface searching method and a grappling hook before the body was found.
The report stated that based on the information obtained from witnesses, the victim reportedly fell into the river from the bridge and did not resurface.
The victim could not be identified, and his presumed belongings were found nearby.
The body was later handed over to the police for further action, and the operation ended at 5.58am. — DayakDaily
