SIBU, Nov 15: Police are searching for a 32-year-old man who is alleged to have assaulted his nephew in an act of revenge.

Sibu acting district police chief, Supt Collin Babat said that at about 5pm on Nov 13, the 23-year-old complainant and his wife were riding a motorcycle at Jalan Kampung Nangka to his father-in-law’s house at Kampung Bahagia Jaya when the suspect appeared, armed with a piece of wood.

The suspect then stopped them and started to hit the complainant on the back of his head.

Both them subsequently lodged a police report at Sungai Merah police station.

“It was believed that the suspect had acted aggressively as he was not happy for being told by the complainant not to treat his (suspect) wife cruelly,” he said.

The suspect’s wife is the complainant’s sister.

Supt Collin said when the complainant was at the police station to lodge a report, blood was seen oozing from his head.

Policemen on duty had advised him to quickly seek treatment at the nearest hospital.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
