Mandatory Covid-19 testing for senior citizens, high-risk individuals at Kampung Sageng, Simunjan

SIMUNJAN, Sept 11: Kampung Sageng’s senior citizens, pregnant mothers and those in the high-risk category with morbidities must get tested for Covid-19 at the active case detection (ACD) operation to be held at Surau Madrasatul Hidayah in Kampung Sageng Hulu tomorrow (Sept 12).

The Ministry of Health (MOH), in a notice issued today, announced that the Covid-19 screening will start with residents of Kampung Sageng Sabal, and will run from 9am to 10am.

This will be followed by Kampung Sageng Hulu (10.30am to 11.30am), Kampung Sageng Tengah (12pm to 1pm) and Kampung Sageng Hilir (1.30pm to 2.30pm).

MOH reminded that it is mandatory for high-risk individuals including senior citizens above 60 years of age, pregnant mothers and those with morbidities of chronic diseases, lung complication or asthma to get tested.

Those with symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, loss sense of taste and smell, diarrhea, vomiting and headache are also advised to go for screening.

Close contacts to positive cases are also required to get themselves assessed at the ACD operation.

Those with no symptoms and not under high-risk category or are close contacts to positive cases are not required to go for screening.

For more information, residents can contact 082-803614 between 8am to 1pm on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays and Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Meanwhile, a total of 10 villages in Simunjan District have been placed under lockdown starting yesterday until Sept 23.

Among the villages involved include Kampung Baru, Kampung Baru Hilir, Kampung Jalan Giatmara under Sebuyau sub-district, Kampung Melanjok, Kampung Nanas Hilir, Kampung Nanas Hulu, Kampung Sageng Sabal, Kampung Sageng Tengah, Kampung Sageng Hulu and Kampung Sageng Hilir.— DayakDaily
