SIBU, Nov 29: An elderly man who has not returned home in Sibu Jaya since Monday (Nov 27) has been reported as missing.
Head of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sibu Zone 4 Andy Alie said that he was informed about the missing man at 12.15 today by the Sibu Jaya Police Station.
The missing man was named as Ling Siew Meau, 73, with an address at No 4C, Lorong 1B Sibu Jaya. He is a kidney patient and has Alzheimer’s.
“He reportedly left the house on Monday at 3pm heading to Pekan Sibu Jaya and did not return home as of a police report made by the victim’s family yesterday,” Andy said.
Ling is described as a thin, dark-skinned man about 172cm tall and not wearing a shirt, only shorts.
Andy said his department has conducted an operation to search for the missing man in the surrounding area.
“We hope that people who know the whereabouts of Ling will inform the police,” said Andy. — DayakDaily
