KUCHING, July 15: A local man has been ordered by the Magistrate’s Court here today to maintain good behavior for six months after threatening to kill his elder brother for refusing to wash the dishes after a meal.
Asmi, 50, pleaded guilty to a charge under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code before Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.
According to the facts of the case, investigations revealed that on June 30, around 10.30am, a verbal altercation occurred between the 54-year-old complainant and his younger brother (Asmi) at their late father’s house in Kampung Bintangor.
During the argument, Asmi threatened his brother, saying, “I will kill you, stab you with a knife,” while holding a vegetable knife.
The incident stemmed from Asmi’s anger over his brother’s instruction to wash the dishes after eating.
The complainant filed a police report out of concern for his safety after he was threatened by the accused.
Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah ordered the accused to maintain good behavior for six months with a bond of RM500.
