SARIKEI, Jan 5: A man got locked up for more than six hours inside a bank’s auto teller machine (ATM) room at Jalan Masjid Lama here after the door automatically shut yesterday.
Fire and Rescue Department immediately dispatched firefighters from its Sarikei fire station to the scene after receiving the distress call at 1.10am, Saturday.
“After arriving at the scene, it was found that the victim was trapped inside because the bank’s ATM room door system was automatically locked at the set hours.
“Firefighters made a call to the bank staff but unfortunately the officer holding the key was outstation,” the statement said.
The victim had to wait until 6am for the door to automatically unlock. — DayakDaily
