MIRI, March 23: A couple experienced a frightening episode yesterday when their son ran amok and threatened to torch their house at RPR Lorong 1 Pujut here.
According to sources, the incident happened twice, around 9am and 10.15am, when the suspect demanded RM200 from his parents.

When the demand was rejected the first time, the suspect started throwing things inside the house and hurled threats. During the second attempt, he threatened to burn down the house.
Worried for their safety, the suspect’s mother gave in and gave him the RM200 that he wanted. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.
At press time, no arrest has been made. Police are still investigating the case. — DayakDaily
