Man shot in face in retaliation over dispute in Sibu

The victim was shot in the face.

SIBU, March 16: Police are hunting down five men for the attempted murder of a man at a cafe in Paradom near here yesterday.

According to Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, police know who the suspects are and they are residents of Paradom.

At about 4.35pm yesterday, the 40-year-old victim was fishing near a cafe in Paradom when he was agitated by noise created by another man man.

The victim then used a piece of wood to hit the second man who managed to escape.

However, the second man later returned with five men in three vehicles. One of the group fired a shotgun which hit the victim.

“He was admitted to a private medical specialist centre. His condition is stable as he could still communicate with doctors,” Stanley revealed.

The case is being investigated under Section 307 for attempted murder. — DayakDaily
