SIBU, Oct 10: A man was sentenced to 20 years’ jail by the Sessions Court today after he pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual offences against his daughter.
The accused, 45, was also ordered by Judge Musyiri Peet to be caned four times.
In the first charge under Section 376 of the Penal Code, the accused had at about 12.30am on Jan 1, at an numbered house on Jalan St Francis Xavier Mission, Kanowit raped his 16-year-old daughter.
As for the second charge framed under Section 14(A) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017, he had on December 24, 2023, touched the same girl for sexual purposes.
Judge Musyiri sentenced the accused to 10 years jail for each of the two charges plus four strokes of the rotan. He also ordered for the sentences to run concurrently. — DayakDaily
