MIRI, Sept 11: A family staying in a quadruplex flat in Lorong 9, Permyjaya here called the cops after a man ran amok on late Monday evening (Sept 10).
In the 5pm incident, the man, aged 33, suddenly turned amok, terrifying his family members.
Police personel including motorcycle patrol units arrived at the scene and managed to calm the man.
No one were reported injured during the incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was mentally unstable.
At the time of the incident, inside the house were the suspect’s wife and his mother apart from his other siblings.
It was not immediately known what had triggered the suspect to run amok.
As requested by the suspect’s family, the police called for an ambulance to help transport the suspect to Miri Hospital for a check up.
