Man rescued after falling into ravine in Siburan

PADAWAN, Dec 30: A man was rescued after falling into a steep ravine near a village road in Kampung Patos in Siburan here yesterday (Dec 29).

According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the ravine was estimated to have a 50-degree incline and a depth of 30 to 40 meters.

“The victim, semi-conscious and injured, suffered facial and left eye contusions and reported dizziness.

“Rescuers stabilised him using a cervical collar and safely secured him onto a stretcher. The rescue team employed a 3:1 pulley system to hoist the victim out of the ravine,” it said.

Once extricated, the victim was handed over to ambulance personnel for further medical attention. – DayakDaily
