KANOWIT, Dec 4: A man who went fishing at Sungai Majau near Rh Alexander Lutang here yesterday morning (Dec 3) was found dead at 6am today.
The victim was identified as Mohamad Rafiq Abdullah, 50.
According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the body of the deceased was found floating in the river, 7km away from the location he was reported missing.
It was reported that he went out to fish around 8am yesterday (Dec 3) but failed to return home as of 5pm.
Following this, his family member and the village folk had conducted an initial search for the victim but they had only found his fishing equipment near the river.
The victim had a medical history of epilepsy which prompted his relative to file a missing person report out of fear for his safety. — DayakDaily
