Man remanded four days for allegedly possessing drugs

Man pleads not guilty to intimidation, causing hurt to wife.

KUCHING, Nov 25: Magistrate’s Court here allowed the police to remand a 21-year-old man for four days for allegedly possessing 45.85 grams of fruit juice drugs and ecstasy-like substance.

The 21-year-old male suspect was arrested by police from Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, at the main entrance of Riverine Sapphire Condominium, on November 21, at about 1.30 pm.

During a body search by the police officer, a grey coloured box was found in the left pocket of the suspect’s short pants, and a white colour plastic believed to be fruit juice drugs and ecstasy weighing 45.83 grams.

He was brought before Court Registra Aida Montong to apply for remand for seven days to facilitate the police to further investigate the case. However, Aida Montong allowed the police to remand the suspect for four days until November 29.

The case is investigated under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The suspect also tested positive for Methamphetamine.

Investigating Officer Nurliza Md Ruzli applied for the remand whereas the suspect was represented by Counsel Roger Chin. – DayakDaily
