Man remanded for five days, allegedly pimped out 10yo daughter for sex

KUCHING, Sept 28: The Magistrate’s Court here allowed the police to remand a man for five days for allegedly pimping out his 10-year-old daughter as a sex slave.

The suspect was arrested by the police yesterday (Sept 27) around 2pm.

Magistrate Zubaidah Shakawi today allowed the police to remand the suspect for five days until October 3 to assist the police in further investigating the case.

The incident came to light after the girl told her schoolteacher who subsequently lodged a police report.

The victim had been sent to Sarawak Genera Hospital for further examination.

According to a source, the victim had allegedly been sent to an ‘uncle’ numerous times by her father in exchange for money.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(b) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 376 of the Penal Code.

According to Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, any person who has in his or her care a child being neglected or abandoned, or exposes the child in a manner likely to cause him/her physical or emotional injury can be fined not exceeding RM20,000 or imprisoned for a term not exceeding ten years, or both. — DayakDaily
