KUCHING, Sept 20: A man in his 40s was pronounced dead after he fell from a 5-metre tall tree at Mile 31, Serian-Kuching Road this afternoon.
According to a statement from the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received the alert at 12.28pm and immediately deployed a team to the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers from Serian Hospital. Bomba personnel helped to carry the body out using a stretcher.
The deceased was later handed over to the police for further investigation. As of press time, the authorities have yet to disclose further details about the incident. — DayakDaily
