KUCHING, Jan 17: A man claimed trial to a charge of raping his 12-year-old daughter.
The 36-year-old accused pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under 376B(1) of the Penal Code. If convicted, he may face up to 30 years in jail and whipping.
Sessions Court Judge Afidah Abdul Rahman fixed February 17 for mention of the case and allowed the accused to be released on RM15,000 bail with two local sureties.
The man was charged with raping his daughter in his wife’s room, at about 7pm on December 25, 2021.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamad Aiman Mutalib Mohamad Shariff prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
