Man perishes in early morning accident

KOTA SAMARAHAN, Sept 1: A 21-year-old man died in a road accident at KM14 of the Jalan Kota Samarahan-Mambong route at 3am today.

According to a police report, the car the deceased was driving skidded and spun a few times before landing upside down on the left side of the road. During the accident, the deceased was flung out of the car.

According to the report, there were no street lights along that stretch of road and the weather was fine at the time of the accident.


The deceased was identified as Dylan Bryan Richard Rockie from Taman Stella Batu 12 Jalan Kuching/Serian.

He was brought immediately by ambulance to the emergency unit at Sarawak General Hospital Heart Centre but was later confirmed dead due to severe head injury.

Meanwhile, his 22-year-old male passenger sustained injuries to his left hand.

Dylan’s body was later brought to the Sarawak General Hospital forensics unit.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
