MIRI, Sept 27: A man was killed, while his female pillion rider sustained bodily injuries after a motorcycle they were travelling on skidded and struck a tree yesterday morning.
The incident was reported occurred at KM6 Jalan Hilltop Miri.
According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, prior to the crash, the deceased and his female pillion rider, 17, were heading towards Morsjaya from the city centre before he suddenly lost control of the motorcycle.
Miri traffic police personnel were deployed to the scene upon receiving a report on the incident at 8.40am yesterday.
Alexson said that the deceased suffered severe injuries to his face.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
