JULAU, July 28: A 35-year-old man died after the car he was driving rammed into stationary heavy vehicle at Jalan KJD Julau last night.
Bintangor Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief Nicholas Belulin when contacted said the 9.30pm accident happened when the victim was on the way from Sarikei to Julau.
“The man died on the spot due to serious injury,’ he said.
Nicholas said his station received a call regarding a road accident at 9.50pm at Jalan KJD Julau.
“Firemen took 10 minutes to extricate the victim who was stuck in the driver’s seat of the car, using rescue tools, “he said.
The victim was pronounced dead at Tue scene by a medical officer.
Meanwhile Julau District police chief DSP Amban Sulin said the victim’s body has been sent to Sarikei Hospital for further action.
“We are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 187,”he said. — DayakDaily
