BINTULU, Nov 27: A man was killed late last night (Nov 26) after he was ejected from a 4WD vehicle in a crash approximately 70 metres off the road near the Selungun roundabout in Samalaju.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Samalaju responded to the emergency at 11.04pm and swiftly deployed a team of firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered two male passengers involved in the crash, which involved a Toyota Hilux double cab.
The victim, who was ejected from the vehicle on impact, was found unconscious.
Paramedics from the Ministry of Health pronounced him dead at the scene.
The second passenger, a 22-year-old man, managed to exit the vehicle unaided despite sustaining injuries. He was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Firefighters assessed the situation and subsequently handed over the deceased’s remains to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
