MIRI, July 9: A 34-year-old man sustained bodily injuries following an explosion at a house along Jalan Dato Permaisuri on Tuesday evening (July 8).
Operation Commander Ramlee Sahari from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said preliminary investigations indicated that the explosion occurred while the victim was attempting to cut a cylinder valve using a gas welding tool.

The Lutong Bomba team, with assistance from the Lopeng Station, responded to the emergency at 6.45pm.
Upon their arrival, the victim had already been taken to the hospital by family members.
Firefighters carried out thorough monitoring to ensure the area was safe before concluding the operation at 7.15pm. — DayakDaily
