KUCHING, Dec 11: The Sessions Court here today sentenced a 45-year-old man to three years’ jail for causing hurt to his younger brother.
Judge Mohd Taufik Mohd @ Mohd Yusoff passed the sentenced after accused Zainal Abidin Omar pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was charged with voluntarily causing hurt to his 27-year-old sibling with a knife on March 15, 2018, at about 8.40pm in a house at Petra Jaya.
The charge, under Section 324 of the Penal Code read together with Section 326A of the same Code, provides for imprisonment of up to 10 years with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishments.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali prosecuted, while the accused was unrepresented. — DayakDaily
