Man from Kuala Lumpur remanded for drug possession

MIRI, Jan 7: A man from Taman Desa Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, who was detained by Miri Narcotic Investigation Department (NCID) on Saturday night, has been remanded for four days until January 9 by Miri Magistrate Court for drug possession.

Magistrate Md Syafique Md Hilmie issued the order to the 46-year-old accused on Sunday.

The accused is being remanded under Section 39A(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 to assist police probe into the case.


The accused was detained by this Miri NCID around 11pm along the five-foot-way at Jalan Parry.

During the arrest, police seized drugs weighing at 5.05 grammes from the accused. —DayakDaily
