SIBU, Aug 25: A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of hitting his own mother with a plastic chair in the living room of a longhouse here yesterday.
Sibu District Deputy Chief of Police, Superintendent Collin Babat said the suspect, who was out of jail recently for a crime, had hit his mother, 68, with a plastic chair as he blamed her for his motorcycle being towed away by a motorcycle shop after he had failed to service the loan.

The suspect was arrested by police following a call from the complainant at 11.40am.
“He has been remanded for four days until Aug 29 to assist in further investigations,” he added.
A plastic chair was also seized as evidence in the case.
The suspect was recently released from Sibu Prison after serving a prison sentence of five months for an offense under section 324/326a of the penal code.
“This case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for intentionally causing injury to the victim,” he added. — DayakDaily
