MIRI, September 15:  The mystery surrounding the disappearance of a 26-year-old man from his workplace four days ago unfolded, when his body was found hanging from a tree.

The discovery was made at 11.20am Friday (Sept 14), near an estate at Batu Niah.

Plantation workers who found the body immediately informed the estate assistant supervisor.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed the case when contacted.

“The body has been taken to the morgue at Miri Hospital for a post mortem. In our preliminary investigation, the police found the remains of ropes left next to the tree where the body was found hanging.”

The deceased had not turned up for work since Sept 12 (Wednesday).

“The case has been classified as sudden death,” ACP Lim said.

He added that prior to the incident, the deceased had been quarreling with his wife, as she was seeking a divorce. — DayakDaily
