SIBU, Nov 12: A 67-year-old man was found dead in front of a bank at Jalan Tuanku Osman yesterday.
Acting Sibu district police chief Supt Collin Babat said initial investigation had ruled out any criminal elements involved in the death of Awang Chek Awang Bujang from Kampung Bungin, Spaoh.
He said at about 6.45pm yesterday, police received a call from a member of the public concerning an elderly man lying motionless with his mouth covered in blood in front of a bank.
“A police team rushed to the scene and found the man who was then wearing a black shirt, a tracksuit and a black cap. There were no marks on his body to indicate that he was injured,” he said.
Supt Collin said earlier on at 5pm, two policemen saw the man drinking soya bean and tea at a coffee shop about 300m from the scene, where he suddenly collapsed but got up from the chair and walked away.
A screen grab from the CCTV of the shop showed the man walking to the area before collapsing in front of the bank. — DayakDaily
