Man found dead in Bekenu in SAR operation

KUCHING, June 20: A man who went for jungle trekking alone on Saturday afternoon at Kampung Kejapil, Bekenu, Miri fell unconscious and was later pronounced dead.

According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), it received an emergency call from the victim who complained of chest pain and was unable to find his way out of the jungle.


Subsequently, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched to find the victim.

Upon arrival at the scene, a team from Bomba had managed to locate the victim who was lying unconsciously about 500 metres from the location which he sent.

The victim was subsequently carried out from the jungle with the help of a stretcher.

He was pronounced dead at the scene after a team of medical officers arrived and tried to resuscitate him. —DayakDaily.
