KUCHING, Dec 31: A man drowned after he slipped and fell into Sungai Batang, Jambatan Kuning, Mukah on Tuesday morning.
The tragedy happened around 7:05 am. The deceased’s friend tried to save him by throwing a floater towards him, but the deceased failed to grab hold and eventually drowned.
Fire and Rescue department (BOMBA) reached the scene and recovered the deceased’s body one kilometer away from the scene.
The deceased was identified as Shah Riman Mohd Abbas and the body was later bought to the hospital. —DayakDaily
