KUCHING, May 7: A 44-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being pinned inside a vehicle following a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Pujut 7 in Miri today.
According to a report from Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak today, after receiving the call from Malaysian Emergency Response (MERS) 999 about the accident at 3.15am, firefighters from Bomba Lopeng were deployed to the location.
Based on the report from the operation commander at the scene, the victim was believed to have lost control of his four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle and crashed into two trees before being pinned to the driver’s seat.
Following that, firefighters then used a chainsaw to cut the tree branches, including utilising special equipment to extricate the victim.
The victim was later confirmed dead by medical officers attending the location, and the body was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
