SIBU, March 13: A 26-year old man is facing the death penalty after being found with drugs during a raid here yesterday.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, said the suspect was arrested for alleged possession of dangerous drugs during the 8.30pm raid at a house at Jalan Merdeka.
“A body search on the suspect found nothing by the police team. They however continued their search in a room, where they found a black plastic bag,” he said when contacted.
Inside the bag were several small packages, which contained 757.93 gramme of methylenedioxymethamphetamine and 120.47 gramme of ketamine.
“All items were seized and the suspect was brought to Sungai Merah police station for further action,” he added.
Stanley said they had opened investigation and will charge the suspect in court under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 and Section 39A of the same Act. — DayakDaily
